Our partnership is vital to what we accomplish. Through Shared Stewardship we are able to address the many facets of forest health. This strategy acknowledges the need to work with all partners to set priorities, work at appropriate scales, utilize all tools and authorities, and manage across all lands to address wildfire risk and forest health. The KLFHP has completed a local Klamath and Lake Counties Shared Stewardship Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that identifies how the KLFHP is putting shared stewardship into practice in Klamath and Lake Counties.

This county-level MOU tiers to the objectives identified in the state-level MOU between the USDA Forest Service and the Oregon Department of Forestry signed August 13, 2019, and aligns with the Forest Service’s Shared Stewardship Strategy.
